Universal Printing Makes Management Changes

Des Moines, Iowa

Universal Printing Services is excited to announce some major changes within its own organizational structure. Well into its 3rd generation of family ownership and 51st year of operation, the company has seen significant growth over the last 10+ years. Thru two company acquisitions, numerous building renovations, new equipment purchases, consistent double-digit sales growth, and construction of a brand-new warehouse – the last decade has been the most successful in company history.

In 1966 George Springer II started the company with no other family members present. In 1980 George Springer III joined the company, alongside his father. Today, there are three family members working and managing the company. While many things have changed over those 51 years, one thing has stayed consistent: local family ownership and operation.

For the last 11 years Sara Springer has worked her way up the management ladder. In 2006 she started as a Graphic Designer in the Pre-Press Department. Today Sara oversees all aspects of Operation, serving as the General Manager. Effective April 1st, She will transition to President of Universal Printing.

For the last 6 years Brian Springer has continued to involve himself with more of the front office work. In 2011 Brian started as an Account Representative, and eventually worked his way up to the Sales & Marketing Manager. Effective April 1st, Brian will transition to Vice President of Universal Printing.

As for the majority owner/ President for the last 30 years, George Springer III will transition to Chairman of the Board. The company would not be where it is today without his leadership, his guidance and influence helped establish the company as a leader in the Midwest printing industry. George will play a key role going forward, supporting and advising the new management team.

The company is excited to make these changes, setting the company up for another 51+ years of success – thru family leadership and operation.  Tony Robbins said it best: “For changes to be any true value, they’ve got to be lasting and consistent.” Well, that is exactly what this change will guarantee – lasting and consistent Family leadership; with Sara and Brian leading the way.

The company would like to thank their clients, for their loyalty and trust in Universal Printing’s abilities over the years. Without clients there would be no reason to tell this story.
